Thanks to all that attended the strobist demo. Much bigger turn out then I was expecting. And thank you to our lovely model Mary. I enjoyed being able to show everyone just how easy it can be. I wanted to recap a few of the more important points from the strobist demonstration. Strobist isn't always about taking pictures of models. It's great for taking senior pictures, or still life's, or family/baby photos, or perhaps to light an entire room. It's great for creating special effects too. Have you ever tried to catch your cat or kids in action playing in the house? Can you say blur? I knew you could.
Would you look at that? Our beloved club just got a face lift! Hope everyone enjoys the new look. The basic structure of the site has not changed, but a few controls may have moved around. Submitted by lee

Remember When Rikk Flohr Talked about Adjusting the Exposure?......
At our last club meeting, Rikk Flohr gave a great presentation on winter photography. During the presentation Rikk talked about adjusting the camera's exposure up as much as a +2 in order to get the white snow.....white.
Here's an article that further explains the EV button on your camera and when and how to apply it to your photos. Remember though, the EV button only works on Shutter aka Tv, and Aperture priority modes. It does not work on manual or that ugly "auto everything" setting.
Exclusive RWPC Club Shoot - Historic Sheldon Theatre, Red Wing
We have a unique opportunity for a photo shoot. The Sheldon theatrehas opened its doors exclusively to the photo club to shoot pretty much anywhere in the theatre.
For those of you not familiar with the Sheldon, this is an historic theatre in downtown Red Wing. It has some incredible furnishing, lighting, back stage , and cat-walk opportunities.
The date of this event is NOVEMBER 6th from 7-9 PM. The Sheldon will be closed to the public as there will not be an event scheduled that evening, so the theatre will be exclusive to the photo club.
To sign up for this event, MEMBERS please SIGN IN to this club site, or if this is your time here, you will need to sign up. After signing in, go to FORUMS, then to EVENTS and you will see the Sheldon Theatre event. If you plan to attend, please reply in the QUICK REPLY.
You will be asked to sign a liability release before entering the theatre as you will have access to areas not available to the public. If you have any questions or have any problems signing in or signing up, give me a call at 651-925-7384.
As we approach the fall and winter months and there are less activities to otherwise keep us busy, your photography hobby should just bubble up to the top of your "fun stuff to do" list.
We would like to expand our club functions, special interest groups, and outings and need your help. Every club needs members who accept some leadership role in specific areas. We need leadership in the following areas:
I found a great website with tutorials on all the subjects listed in the "read the rest" area. Simply click on this link to jump to their home page. Happy learning.
